Steven's Croft Biomass Power Station

In December 2007 Scotland’s largest biomass power station was commissioned. Based just outside Lockerbie, the new site can generate enough electricity for around 70,000 homes and also prevent the emission of 140,000 tonnes of greenhouse gases every year.

The plant is fuelled entirely by biomass material. Over 480,000 tonnes of fuel is needed to power the station every year.

Surface Technik was responsible for the anti-corrosive treatments on all of the exterior duct work and chimneys on the site, supplying and applying a three coat paint system that offers the very best in corrosion resistance for this high profile power generation plant.
